New to Blogging

So, here I am blogging. I've spent some time on Facebook, it is fun and interesting, but find it a bit superficial (yes, there certainly is a time for superficial and fun). Hopefully, this blog will allow me to connect and communicate with my family and dear friends on a more substantial level. There is so much happening with Alex and myself right now and I think this method of communication could be just what I need. So, here it is, I'm commiting to frequent info and photo updates so we can all stay connected (especially mom and dad... and Jim... and Jeff... who seem a little reluctant to make the leap to Facebook).
